Anxiety

Definition

  • Anxiety is an emotional and physiological response characterized by feelings of unease, worry, apprehension, or fear about future events, situations, or uncertainties, often accompanied by cognitive symptoms such as excessive worry and racing thoughts, emotional symptoms like restlessness and dread, and physical manifestations including rapid heartbeat and muscle tension.

 

  • There are many types of anxiety and these include

  1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder 

  2. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  3. Panic Disorder

  4. Specific Phobias

  5. Selective Mutism

  6. Social Anxiety Disorder

  7. Separation Anxiety Disorder

  8. Persistent Depressive Disorder

  9. Seasonal Affective Disorder
